Dear Friends and Family,
It’s hard to believe that it is December already! Time is flying by and we’ll be on a plane for Medellín, Colombia before you know it! We have already purchased tickets and leave bright and early on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
This will be a different experience than when we left for language studies and service in Paraguay in 2003 with three children, five years old and under. And then again in 2011 for Colombia when our three were 13, 11 and 9 years old -- not easy ages to transition and adapt to a new country but they were troopers. Now, we will be flying solo as Emilio and Caroline are both in college and Natalie is a junior in high school at a New Hampshire boarding school.
A quick update: We are now officially Park Street Church missionaries, Gustavo has received his academic teaching schedule for all of 2020, we’ve been assigned housing on campus, and to-date we have received pledges and giving for 83% of our monthly budget. Thanks to all who attended our brunches! It was a privilege to share our ministry with you. And it was fun!
Although we are still seeking out partners who want to walk beside us in prayer and in regular giving, we are also currently requesting one-time donations to go towards our outgoing expenses. Outgoing expenses include one-way airfare, extra baggage cost, purchase of appliances, furniture and household basics, visa expenses, language classes for Rochelle, etc.
