Prayer Requests

Winter 2020

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. For our kids as they continue their schooling in difficult and restrictive situations.  They are happy to be on their respective campuses with friends, but it has taken an emotional toll on them.
  2. For us as we return to Medellín and a hybrid model of teaching with bio-security measures in place.  Some of our older staff will not be able to safely return so they will continue in virtual mode.
  3. For a working visa process.  We have heard from missionaries there how difficult it has been to renew visas.
  4. Pray for each of our students, professors and staff as they return to campus.

Fall 2019

Please join us in prayer for:

  1. For Gustavo as he travels consistently between now and Thanksgiving teaching three classes for Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary’s Hispanic ministries division while continuing to teach virtually for the Biblical Seminary of Colombia.
  2. For our children as they transition back to their schools and then having parents in another country
  3. Grace as we raise our final 25% of our support PLUS additional monies for our outgoing expenses.
  4. For all of the details of relocating to Colombia in January 2020

Spring 2019

Thank you for allowing us to share our personal praises and needs with you, so that you can join us in prayer.

  1. June 12-22 – Gustavo and Natalie will be leading a group from Colonial Church in Edina, MN for a short-term trip to Colombia. This will be the third time that Colonial returns to minister in Medellín with the Karakeys.
  2. Pray for all of the students of the Biblical Seminary of Colombia who make great personal and financial sacrifices to complete four years of study to earn their degrees.
  3. We thank the Lord that all of our kids will be employed this summer. Natalie will be a 1st grade counselor at the Meadow Breeze summer program; Caroline returns as a Freedom Trail guide at Park Street Church and Emilio interns with Ernst and Young in Boston.
  4. Congratulations to Caroline who graduated from Boston Trinity Academy this year. She will start her freshman year at Connecticut College in New London, CT in the fall.
  5.

Winter 2019

  1. We would like to celebrate the completion of Gustavo’s PhD in December 2018.  He passed his oral exams with minor corrections.  We are excited for this major milestone as it will open up many new opportunities at the seminary.
  2. We ask for prayers for our son Emilio and daughter Natalie who are both away at school.  Emilio continues his freshman year at Trinity College in Hartford, CT while Natalie continues her sophomore year of high school at Phillips Exeter Academy in NH.
  3. Please pray for Gustavo as he begins a new slate of virtual courses this semester including Acts and Paul’s letters.
  4. Pray for all of the students of the Biblical Seminary of Colombia who make great personal and financial sacrifices to complete four years of study to earn their degrees.

We thank you all for partnering with us in prayer for the BSC, our ministry, our family and the people of Colombia.
