Colonial Towns of Colombia
Open Arms Boys Farm
San Pedro de los Milagros
Lovely small town about an hour north west of Medellin. The Boy’s Farm is just outside San Pedro in a community called El Tambo. Population: 22,000
Gutapé, Colombia
One of the crown jewels of colonial towns in Colombia.
This small town sits at the base of a series of man-made lakes and is famous for its colorful “zocalos”, adobe bas-relief decorations that highlight the character or business of each building (see above photo).
Decades earlier, the National Power Grid company flooded the basin to make way for the hydroelectric generating dam.
